Person struck by car on MU campus

The University of Missouri Police Department investigated a pedestrian crash Wednesday night.

Officers responded to the scene at the intersection of Virginia Avenue and Rollins Street around 7 p.m.

MU police said Lamayah Clayton, 19, was traveling west on Rollins Street when her vehicle collided with Michael Brown, 23, who was walking in the crosswalk.

Police said Brown was taken to the hospital and Clayton was cited for the crash and not having insurance.

A witness told ABC 17 News they saw someone lying on the ground and then that person was put on a stretcher.

Brown was in fair condition on Thursday morning, according to a spokeswoman with University Hospital.
