MoDOT to again close ramp at Highway 54/63 interchange

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri Department of Transportation will close a ramp at the Highway 54/63 interchange in north Jefferson City on Wednesday for the second time in as many months.

The ramp from westbound Highway 54 to northbound Highway 63 will be closed for about two weeks, MoDOT said in a news release. The closure is needed to finish work on the northbound Highway 63 bridge over Oilwell Road.

The interchange is just north of the Missouri River bridge.

Drivers will be detoured west on Highway 54 to the Route W interchange, where they will then head back north to the Highway 63 interchange, according to MoDOT.

The work is part of a larger project to improve Highway 63 between Route B in Boone County and Highway 54 in Jefferson City. Improvements are also being made to guardrails and bridges, MoDOT says.

The ramp from Highway 63 south to Highway 54 was closed for work last month.
