Rock Bridge High School eyes new principal for 2019-20

A new principal for Rock Bridge High School is being sought for the 2019-20 school year.

Jacob Sirma will be recommended to the Columbia Board of Education for the position. Sirna will replace the current principal, Jennifer Rukstad, who will become the new assistant superintendent for secondary education.

Sirna is currently the principal at Marshall High School in Marshall, Missouri, and was also previously the assistant principal at Battle High School for five years.

“We’re excited to have Mr. Sirna return to Columbia Public Schools. He will continue Rock Bridge High School’s mission to help all students be life‐long learners and prepared for the future,” Superintendent Peter Stiepleman wrote in an email.
