Waino, Yadi make history in Cardinals win

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMIZ)

Adam Wainwright and Yadier Molina made history with their 325th battery start, the most in Major League Baseball, against the Milwaukee Brewers Wednesday at Busch Stadium.

The historic moment came during a 4-1 win.

Wainwright led things on the mound giving up eight hits and run earned run in five innings, plus recording three strikeouts.

Yadi drove in a run on the day, as did Lars Nootbar, Nolan Arenado and Albert Pujols.

The double-header with Milwaukee ends in a split after the Brewers won Tuesday 8-4.

Up next - The home stand continues for St. Louis as the Reds come to town for a five-game series starting Thursday at 6:45 p.m.
