Mizzou women’s basketball guard Akira Levy out for season after injury

According to a team spokesperson, Mizzou women’s basketball guard Akira Levy tore her ACL and meniscus in her right knee against Auburn.

She will miss the rest of the season, and there is not timetable for her surgery. The spokesperson said the team is confident Levy will make a full recovery and be ready for next season.

Levy went down late in the fourth quarter against Auburn on Sunday, and trainers had to help her up, but she was able to walk off the court.

As a true freshman, Levy was a big part of Mizzou’s team this year. She played at least 10 minutes in all but three games this season. Levy averaged 4.8 points per game and more than two assists per game coming off the bench.
