Woman catches burglary suspects on security camera

The mother of a current inmate caught three people breaking into her son’s apartment after she set up a security camera at the residence.

The woman showed police photos of the suspects from the security footage, court documents said. The photos showed a man leaving the residence with a flat screen TV.

The woman told police no one was permitted to be in the apartment while her son was in the Randolph County Jail.

Officers arrived at the residence on Route T in Moberly on Monday and saw Toby Chapman walking out of the residence along with Stephanie Smith and Lance Pippin. Smith told police the three went into the residence earlier in the day and took some food items and a flat screen TV.

Chapman, Pippin and Smith were all charged with second-degree burglary.
