Three accused of breaking into apartment, assaulting resident

Three people were charged after they allegedly broke into an apartment in California, Missouri, and beat up the person who lived there.

Police responded to the residence in the 900 block of W. Cedar Street on Sunday. When police arrived, they found the victim, who said Logan S. Sperry and Joshua A Guinn ran into the apartment, and Sperry began swinging a stapler at the victim’s arm, according to court documents.

The victim told police he was hit multiple times with brass knuckles and that Abigail L. Harris pushed him into a window. The victim suffered cuts on his arm.

In a later interview with police, Sperry admitted he went to talk to the victim with a stapler, which he identified as a weapon, court documents said.

A warrant and $25,000 bond were issued for Sperry and Harris.

Authorities have not yet located Guinn.
