BBB warns consumers about Hallsville contractor

The Better Business Bureau has issued a warning about a Hallsville contractor after customers said the company failed to complete work for them.

The BBB gave Accurate Home Construction and Inspections an F-minus rating, the lowest on its scale, the organization said in a news release Monday. In one case a disabled woman said she paid $14,000 to renovate a bathroom to make it accessible but the company never finished the job.

In another case an Auxvasse man said he hired the company in July and paid $1,600 for home improvements, but the company worked on the project for one day and never returned, the release said. The BBB said it tried to reach the person listed in state records as the contact for the company, Loren “Red” Matheny, but never received a response.
