Mid-Missouri Business Week: Columbia Chamber of Commerce talks infrastructure, manufacturing jobs

The Columbia Chamber of Commerce is hoping to continue the growth of the manufacturing industry during 2019.

Matt McCormick, president of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, said that the chamber is looking forward to seeing current businesses expand. McCormick also noted that a big challenge is getting students and residents to stay in Columbia.

“We have more jobs than we have people right now,” McCormick said.

McCormick also pointed out issues with state infrastructure, including roads and bridges.

If you are interested in learning more about local businesses and industries, the Columbia Chamber of Commerce is also planning to hold an annual one-day expo on April 11, “Showcase CoMo.” The showcase will highlight Columbia businesses in addition to holding seminars on various business-related topics.
