Jefferson City crash sends one person to hospital

One person suffered injuries in a crash Friday afternoon, according to the Jefferson City Police Department.

A news release said the wreck happened as traffic slowed around 3:45 p.m. in the 1200 block of eastbound U.S. 50/63.

According to police, a Cadillac was driving behind a Dodge Dakota pickup truck while a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was in the passing lane next to the Dodge Dakota.

Police said the driver of the Cadillac didn’t notice the change in speed of the vehicles in front of it, causing the Cadillac to strike the ends of both pickup trucks.

The driver of the Cadillac was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
