Montreal home destroyed in fire

The Mid-County Fire Protection District said a home is considered a total loss after a fire early Friday morning.

It happened just after midnight on State Road E in Montreal, according to a news release.

Fire officials said firefighters arrived to find the two-story home fully involved and the roof had collapsed. Crews brought the fire under control in about 40 minutes and everyone cleared the scene around 4:30 a.m., the release said.

The Mid-County Fire Protection District said no one was home at the time of the fire.

The MCFPD Fire Marshal’s Office and the Missouri Division of Fire Safety is investigating.
