Moberly man accused of sending child sexual messages
A Moberly man has been charged with a child sex crime after he allegedly sent Facebook messages offering money and marijuana in exchange for sexual favors.
Court documents say the investigation into Nicolas Lewsader-Schomaker, 29, started after a family member of the victim found the Facebook messages on his tablet. The documents say in addition to money and marijuana Lewsader-Schomaker also offered to buy the 12-year-old child cigarettes.
The child told investigators that Lewsader-Schomaker had “never taken advantage of me,” according to the documents. Lewsader-Schomaker was arrested Wednesday outside the Taco Bell restaurant where he works after a police interrogation, documents say.
Lewsader-Schomaker was booked into the Randolph County Jail on a $20,000 cash-only bond on one count of attempted child enticement. An arraignment is scheduled for Monday. No lawyer was listed for Lewsader-Schomaker in online court records.
