Kansas City police officer on life support
A Kansas City police officer is on life support after he tried to shoot himself on Friday night while off-duty.
According to the department, they got information that he’d gone missing and was suicidal. He remains in the hospital on life support, awaiting an organ donation.
“This officer has served the people of Kansas City as a member of KCPD for more than 10 years,” the department said on Twitter. “His family and KCPD are very appreciative of your support during this difficult time.”
Our Fox affiliate in Kansas City reports that that department has activated its’ volunteer chaplains and all the peer support resources available to the department.
