Another seasonal day this afternoon in Mid-Missouri
SUNDAY: We could see some flurries making it all the way to the ground south of I-70 this morning, but for the most part we’ll stay dry this morning. We’ll see partly cloudy skies this afternoon as we continue the thawing process, getting into the upper 30s to low 40s. Winds will turn out of a more southerly direction this afternoon around 10 mph.
TONIGHT: Clouds will be on the increase tonight as a cold front approaches the area. Winds increasing ahead of the frontal passage out of the south and this increasing cloud cover will keep temperatures from dropping much throughout the night, holding in the mid to upper 30s. Rain chances will increase with the front making it through the region in the early morning hours, so the umbrella will come in handy for the morning commute.
EXTENDED: Highs on Monday will occur shortly after midnight, as temperatures will be falling throughout the afternoon behind breezy northwest winds which will gust up to 30 mph and bring temperatures to near 20 by the afternoon. As this cold air rushes in, we could see a change over to snow, but precipitation will be coming to an end by the evening, with little accumulation expected. Much of the upcoming week will be cold with temperatures only managing to reach the upper teens to low 20s for highs. It will breezy Monday through Wednesday, as these systems work through Mid-Missouri, which will create wind chills in the mornings 15 to 20 degrees below zero.
