Columbia College boasts biggest new student class since 2018

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia College said Monday that it welcomed the most new students to classes since 2018.

The academic year began Monday with 294 new students taking classes at the Columbia campus, the college said in a news release. The number represents an 18% increase compared to 2021 and the most since 2018. Total enrollment on the Columbia campus is equal to last year's at 809, the college said.

Columbia College has 43 locations nationwide and an online program. About 9,600 students take classes through Columbia College.

The college started eight new degree and certificate programs this fall, as well.

Columbia College was founded in 1851.
