Columbia prepares for potential power outages with second round of snow

The City of Columbia is preparing for potential power outages this weekend due to snow and wind.

The city said it will have members of the utilities department report at 10 a.m. Saturday morning.

Water and Light customers that experience an outage are asked to report it by calling the city at 573-875-2555. Residents can check the number of outages by looking at the outage map.

During a snow storm last weekend, up to 9,000 customers lost power. The city requested help from crews in Rolla, Waynesville, Macon and Palmyra. There were also a couple of contractors who helped restore power.
