MoDOT to present plans for Grindstone Parkway work
The Missouri Department of Transportation will host an informational meeting Thursday in Columbia to talk about bridge work along Highway 63.
The meeting, at New Haven Elementary School from 4 to 6 p.m., will include discussion of improvements to the Route AC/Grindstone Parkway overpass at Highway 63.

The work will take place over up to 60 days this summer and is part of a plan to rehabilitate seven bridges along Highway 63 in Boone and Callaway counties, the agency said in a news release.
According to MoDOT, 60 percent of Missouri’s bridges are “beyond their original intended life.” The agency’s website inclues nine pages listing bridges throughout the state that are considered to be in poor condition. Of those bridges, 1,194 are weight restricted, meaning they cannot carry some normal traffic.
Gov. Mike Parson said in his State of the State speech Wednesday that he wants to repair 250 bridges that are in need of critical repair or replacement. The Grindstone project, however, is not one of those bridges.
