Some schools to be closed again Wednesday
Some mid-Missouri schools are calling off Wednesday classes, while others will be starting late or limiting bus routes.
Southern Boone Public Schools, Fulton Public Schools, North Callaway R-I and South Callaway R-II will be closed, while buses will run on blacktop only in the Mexico school district. Moberly Public Schools buses will run on snow routes only and Jefferson City Public Schools buses will be on snow routes in Callaway County only. Columbia Public Schools will start two hours late.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory in effect overnight Tuesday, as well. The weather service warns that freezing drizzle could lead to a light glaze of ice by morning. Columbia Public Works said crews are on standby to respond as needed and that spotty slick spots are likely.
Crews are on standby as of 4 p.m. Engineers will continue to monitor weather/road conditions for needed response as there is a minor chance for fog or potentially some drizzle overnight. Please watch for spotty slick conditions and drive with caution. https://t.co/5oYbOwvAkI pic.twitter.com/yxiRX0f314

Wednesday will be the third day in a row that the aftermath of a huge weekend snowstorm will have affected school start times and bus routes.
The National Weather Service recorded nearly 17 inches of snow Friday through Sunday at the Columbia Regional Airport, and higher amounts were recorded in some areas of mid-Missouri.

More wintry precipitation is possible this weekend. ABC 17 Stormtrack meteorologists have called a Weather Alert Day for Saturday in anticipation of a winter storm.
