Hawley praises attorney general nomination
U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley called former Attorney General William Barr “qualified, experienced, thoughtful and well prepared” Tuesday.
Senators questioned and heard from Barr during his confirmation hearing in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Barr was picked by President Donald Trump to be the next U.S. attorney general, replacing Jeff Sessions, who resigned in November.

The freshman senator from Missouri said he asked Barr about his stance on “big tech, including invasion of privacy, stifling competition, suppressing dissenting voices.”
Hawley became a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee upon becoming senator this month.
