Mizzou softball pitcher dismissed

Danielle Baumgartner is no longer on the Mizzou softball team due to a violation of team rules, according to a Mizzou Athletics spokesman. The Mexico, Mo. native played the last three seasons for the Tigers.

Baumgartner had a record of 21-13 in 86 appearances on the mound. She had 25 career starts for Mizzou. She pitched 228 innings and had an ERA of 3.13.

Her best season statistically came as a freshman. Baumgartner was 14-4 with a 1.98 ERA. She had four complete games in 16 starts.

This past season, Baumgartner was 2-4 with a 4.75 ERA.

Mizzou and its first year coach Larissa Anderson will begin the season on February 8th at the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Arizona.
