Jefferson City residence a ‘total loss’ after fire

A home in the 200 block of Tomahawk drive was considered a total loss, according to fire officials, after the structure caught fire Tuesday morning.

Jefferson City Fire Department officials responded to a structure fire at about 5:30 a.m.

Fire fighters saw heavy fire showing from a one-story residence when they arrived. No one was hurt in the fire.

One squad, two engines and 19 personnel responded to the scene as well as one medic.

Fire crews were still on the scene at 9 a.m. Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
