Train hits lines in Montgomery County

More than 600 Ameren Missouri customers lost power Tuesday after a train made contact with low-hanging lines in Montgomery County.

Ameren said the train hit the lines at Sixth and Rollins in Montgomery City, knocking out power to 659 customers. That number was down to 133 at 11:47 a.m., the utility said.

Crews were working on repairs just before noon, an Ameren spokeswoman said.
