One dead in Camden County house fire

One person has died after a house fire in Camden County.

The Camden County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release posted on its website that no suspicious circumstances are believed to have contributed to the fire.

Camden County fire departments were called to the fire in the Stoutland area a little after 6 a.m. Friday, according to the release. The fire is believed to have started in the early morning. A search dog located the victim at 1:15 p.m. The state fire marshal and Camden County deputies and detectives also responded to the fire, the release said.

An autopsy was scheduled for Monday. The sheriff’s office gave no other details about how the fire started or the identity of the person killed.
