COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A truck driver from Kentucky was hurt Monday when his tractor-trailer's tire blew out, causing him to lose control on Interstate 70 in Montgomery County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Jorge Hernandez, 51, of Louisville, suffered moderate injuries when his truck blew a tire on eastbound I-70, went off the road and hit trees at about 11:30 a.m. An ambulance took Hernandez to University Hospital.

The patrol's Troop F tweeted a photo of the tractor-trailer, asking drivers to be careful in that area.

Troopers urged caution because first responders remained at the scene helping with moving the truck.
