Nearly 2,500 customers without power amid snow storm

UPDATE 1:30 a.m.: Nearly 2,500 Columbia Water and Light customers are without power Saturday morning, according to the utility’s outage map.

The City of Columbia tweeted that crews are working to restore power.

The number of outages has gone down to 11, but 2,408 customers are without power.

ORIGINAL: More than a thousand Columbia Water and Light customers were without power Friday night into Saturday morning.

The first outage was reported at 8:34 p.m. As of 12:00 a.m., there were 15 separate outages, according to the Water and Light outage map.

The outages impacted a total of 2,142 customers. The outages were reported in east, north and west Columbia.

ABC 17 News has contacted the city to ask what is causing the outages and when power is expected to be restored.

Multiple Boone Electric customers also experienced a loss of power, Friday night. According to its outage map, it is dealing with 20 separate outages, impacting a total of 239 customers, as of 12:05 a.m.

Ameren reported 24 customers were without power in Boonville.

Three Rivers Electric had 20 customers without power, according to its outage map.
