Mizzou soccer falls to Ohio State; finishes opening weekend 1-1

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou soccer team lost a close game to Ohio State, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon. The loss put the Tigers at 1-1 through the opening weekend of the 2022 season.

Team captain Grace Pettet scored the lone goal for MU, which the the first of her career. The defender headed it in in the second half, courtesy of an assist from Leah Selm, to tie up the game at one.

The Buckeyes managed to get on top with a late goal in the 80th minute of the match to take the win.

Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Bella Hollenbach made seven saves through the full 90 minutes.

Up next - Mizzou will continue the home stand and host Southern Illinois on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
