Man arrested after barricading self in Cole County home

A man was arrested on warrants for domestic assault after he barricaded himself Thursday in a home near Jefferson City, the Cole County Sheriff’s Department said.

Kent Marsh was arrested Thursday morning in the 5000 block of Woodhaven Drive near Gateway Drive in the Apache Flats area. A woman told deputies that Marsh assaulted her then barricaded himself in the basement with several weapons, the sheriff’s department said. Deputies also determined Marsh had two active arrest warrants.

The Jefferson City Police Department SWAT team was called to help and negotiators talked Marsh into leaving the house, the sheriff’s department said. Marsh was arrested without incident, the department said.

He was in the Cole County Jail on Thursday afternoon.
