Report of road rage leads to charges for Jefferson City man

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City man was in the Callaway County Jail on Thursday after a woman said he pointed a gun at her and her children during a road rage incident.

The woman said Keenan K. Reeves, 20, pointed a gun at her and her children -- ages 11 and 10 -- from his vehicle at least twice Wednesday evening, according to a probable cause statement. The incident happened on Highway 63 near Turkey Creek.

Police found a gun wedged between the driver's seat and center console of Reeves' vehicle, the statement says. Reeves allegedly told investigators he had put the gun in his lap and admitted to confronting the woman and following within a foot of her vehicle. Reeves' girlfriend blurted out when she was being removed from the vehicle that he didn't point a gun at anyone, according to the probable cause statement.

Reeves pulled alongside the victim on the shoulder of Highway 63, the victim allegedly told investigators.

Reeves is charged with five felonies -- unlawful use of a weapon and two counts each of child endangerment and armed criminal action. Prosecutors also charged him with misdemeanor assault.

Reeves was jailed without bond. He pleaded guilty in 2019 to unlawful use of a weapon in Livingston County and had a probation violation warrant issued in June.
