Wet start to the morning Monday, Cooler weather arrives Wednesday
TONIGHT: Radar looks wet this evening, but much of what we’re seeing isn’t reaching the ground due to lots of dry air near the surface. We’ll slowly see the atmosphere become more moist through the overnight hours leading to a band of light rain showers developing after 3am. Lows tonight are in the mid to upper 40s, well above average for this time of year. Expect winds to ramp up overnight as the cold front approaches.
MONDAY: Expect breezy conditions with a some light rain as you head out the door in the morning. You’ll need the umbrella and the light jacket, at least for the first half of the day. I think the bulk of the rainfall will be through MidMO by the lunch hour, and we’re quick to clear out with sunshine taking us into the evening. Expect highs in the mid to upper 50s.
EXTENDED: Beyond that, we’re tracking a secondary surge of much colder air that will race across the northern plains and track eastward through The Great Lakes. We look to get clipped by the southern edge of the deep cold. What does this mean for us? Well… it will definitely be much cooler, more like January standards for the middle of the week and into the weekend, but it will be just that… Normal for this time of year. Think low 40s, upper 30s– nights in the 20s.
The biggest cold will be focused across Wisconsin, Michigan and New England where highs in the 10s and lows in the single digits look like a good bet for them.
