Miller County man’s truck pulled from floodwater by local fire departments
MILLER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Firefighters rescued a man from his truck after it got stuck Tuesday in Saline Creek floodwater in Miller County.
The rescue happened Tuesday afternoon at a low-water crossing on Saline Road north of Tuscumbia. The man was not hurt but it took crews about two hours to get him and the truck out of the water, said Jason Hendricks with the Tuscumbia Fire Department.
Southern areas of Mid-Missouri were under a flash flood warning for part of Tuesday after storms blanketed the area with heavy rains starting overnight. Nearly 2.5 inches of rain fell in Jefferson City and about 1.5 inches were recorded in Columbia.
The Cole County Public Works Department said flooding had closed parts of three roads -- Payne, North Branch and Vaughn Ford road.
Rain had largely cleared out of Mid-Missouri by Tuesday afternoon with several days of clear skies expected.
