MU football: Who’s “pulling ahead” leading up to season opener
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou football team is just 16 days away from the start of the 2022 season. With a lot of the depth at certain positions on the roster this season, the coaches are starting to determine who is ready to get into the starting rotations.
Defensive coordinator Blake Baker says the first few weeks are all about teaching the guys what to do, but now is the time to learn how to do it.
"We're trying to be very detailed and you're starting to see some of the separation between some of the guys when it comes to the details of what we're asking them to do," Baker said.
As coach Baker says the defense is inching closer to determining the top 22 but says the competition remains strong in every single room.
"Having the ability to be able to roll in at two to three deep at all four of your positions across the board, I think that's our greatest asset," Baker said.
