Documents detail rape on MU campus
A Columbia man was charged Monday after he allegedly raped a woman at a University of Missouri residence hall.
According to court documents, Mujahid Ahmed, 27, met the victim on the dating app Tinder a week before the incident. Ahmed went on two dates with the victim, and on Wednesday, Ahmed asked if he could come watch TV with the victim.
The victim initially told Ahmed not to come to her residence but eventually agreed to allow him into the residence.
The victim told police Ahmed placed his hands around her throat and said “You are going to be mine.” The victim said she went into “survival mode” after Ahmed threatened her. Ahmed allegedly raped the victim two times.
Ahmed was interviewed by police and denied raping the victim. He told police the two had consensual sex.
Ahmed was charged with first-degree rape or attempted rape. He is being held in the Boone County Jail with no bond.
