Fulton football prepares for year two under Coach Chambers

FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Fulton football team will hit the road to open up head coach Dana Chambers Jr.'s second season at the helm of the program. The Hornets will do battle with Eldon on Aug. 26.

Chambers said the focus between now and then in practice is just consistency.

"Whatever we're doing, whether it's offense, defense, or special teams, just executing it and being consistent with it," he said.

Fulton went 0-9 in his first season as head coach, however, Chambers said that he is returning a solid group of guys with standout leadership qualities. He added that over the summer the numbers for the team also increased from year one.

"We got some seniors that have been a part of the program for a long time and, you know, part of my system for year two," Chambers said. "They're showing that they know what we're doing. We're executing at a high level and we got some young guys that are stepping in and making some plays."

Fulton will be participating in a jamboree at South Callaway on Aug. 19, which will be the unofficial start to the year, but the official start is Aug. 26.
