Crash leads to drug charges in Jefferson City
A Salem, Missouri, man was charged Saturday with drug trafficking, felony drug possession and repeat DWI after a crash in Jefferson City.
Michael I. Vice, 51, was arrested after he crashed his Ford Ranger into a Dodge Challenger late Saturday on Highway50/63 eastbound, according to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement.
Vice didn’t stop until he was pulled over near the crash scene by police, the statement said.
Vice had bloodshot eyes with constricted pupils and was sweating profusely, JCPD Officer Jeff Skinner wrote in the statement. Vice told police he was coming from Colorado, and officers found 59 grams of marijuana, 57 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, Skinner wrote.
Vice refused a blood test and police obtained a warrant, Skinner wrote. Results are pending, he said.
Vice has had a suspended license since 2009 because he has not paid child support. His bond was set at $5,000, according to online court records. It wasn’t clear Wednesday whether Vice had a lawyer.
