TSA predicts 2018 to be busiest winter holiday travel season

The Transportation Security Administration predicted that the 2018 winter holiday travel season will have record-breaking numbers.

Nationwide, TSA projected it will screen 6 percent more passengers this year compared to the same time last year.

A study from Magnify Money showed that during December travel from 2008 to 2017, Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Denver International Airport, two of the three airports that Columbia Regional connect to, were in the top 10 for having the most flights delayed.

The study also showed that O’Hare ranked first for having the most canceled flights during December.

Although an airline passenger can’t control when their flight leaves, Mike Parks, manager at Columbia Regional, said that passengers can make the TSA line go faster by making sure they check packing guidelines before getting to the airport.
