Police investigate shooting in west Columbia

UPDATE 8:30 P.M.: Police said no one was injured after shots were fired in west Columbia.

According to police at the scene, a dozen shell casings were found around the intersection of Brewer and Defoe.

Police said witnesses told them occupants in two vehicles shot at each other.

ORIGINAL: Right now police officers have the intersection of Defoe Drive and Brewer Drive blocked in west Columbia.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired before 8 p.m. Friday night.

Officers put up crime scene tape around the intersection and were seen putting down evidence markers.

ABC 17 News has reached out to police for more information.
