Remaining mild and unsettled through Christmas

TONIGHT: A weak disturbance will track through Mid-Missouri this evening bringing a chance of some sprinkles/flurries after midnight. No impacts are expected. Best chance of running into precipitation will be closer to I-44. Temperatures drop to near 30 degrees overnight.

SUNDAY: Following the early morning chance of flurries, we watch clouds slowly break up into the afternoon hours. You’ll need the jacket out the door for much of the day as we’ll likely only make it into the low 40s. A steady west breeze will keep wind chills in the low to mid 30s.

EXTENDED: Christmas Eve looks to stay dry until the late evening hours. Temperatures look to rebound back to near 50 degrees under a mix of clouds and sunshine. Aforementioned, it looks like we’ll see light rain chances increasing after 8pm Monday with on and off showers, potentially mixing with a few snow flakes at times. We’ll have to keep an eye on the exact track of this system… If the disturbance come in slightly stronger, it will track further south increasing chances for snow to mix in. I do think the idea of a widespread White Christmas is likely off the table, but some early morning flakes could certainly put us close to the mood of the holiday. We’ll continue to monitor that situation.
