Columbia police confirm fatal shooting
Police have confirmed a fatal shooting that killed a 22-year-old.
Police responded to University Hospital, at around noon Wednesday, for a report of a victim with a gunshot wound. It was reported the victim was taken to the hospital by another individual.
Tavious Grant, 22, was pronounced dead at the hospital, while undergoing emergency surgery.
An initial investigation suggests Grant was shot at an apartment in the 1000 block of Claudell Lane.
The investigation is ongoing, but at this time, detectives do not believe the death was intentional.
