Increasing rain into the night, with cooler weather to follow
TONIGHT: Light rain showers will build into the region as we head into the night, with many areas seeing anywhere from .10″ to .25″. It will be another mild night thanks to the clouds, as lows bottom out near 40 degrees by tomorrow morning. However, a shifting wind out of the northwest will set the stage for cooler conditions to arrive as we head through the day Thursday. You’ll want to grab that jacket as you head out the door Thursday morning.
THURSDAY: AM light rain showers are possible east of Hwy 63, but most locations will be dry for the morning commute. Despite the passage of a cold front, the cloudy skies will stick around keeping temperatures in the upper 30s and lower 40s through most of the afternoon hours. Additionally, winds will be quite breezy out of the northwest up to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 26. This will lead to wind chill values in the mid 30s through most of the day Thursday. By the evening hours clouds will slowly begin to decrease, with a cold night to follow.
EXTENDED: Mostly sunny skies will be with us to close out the work week, but the cool conditions remain. Highs will top out near 40 degrees Friday, with wind chill values in the 30s. Christmas weekend looks dry with lows in the upper 20s and highs climbing into the low to mid 40s. Small rain chances are possible for Christmas Eve and Christmas, but models are still having trouble coming into an agreement. As far as Christmas Day, it looks to be a mild one, with highs in the mid to upper 40s and overnight lows in the 30s.
