Man charged after Callaway County deputies recover stolen camper trailer
A man is charged in Callaway County after deputies recovered a stolen camper trailer this week.
Samuel Smiley, 54, of Columbia was arrested around 2:40 p.m. Monday following a search of a home in the 1700 block of County Road 340 near Millersburg.
Smiley was also wanted in Boone County on a felony count of forgery.
According to the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office, deputies recovered the camper trailer, which had been reported stolen out of Boone County.
Prosecutors charged Smiley on Tuesday with a felony count of receiving stolen property.
Smiley is held in the Callaway County jail without bond pending a court appearance.
