VIDEO: CPD officer receives award for 2017 shooting

Officer Chris Papineau received an award from the mayor at Monday’s Columbia City Council meeting regarding his actions on May 13, 2017, when he shot and killed Clarence Coats. Investigators said Papineau shot in order to protect others, since Coats was pointing a gun at someone from atop a building on Garth Ave.

He also got an award from the governor this year.
