Former CPS officer sentenced to 5 years probation
The former chief financial officer of Columbia Public Schools was sentenced to five years of probation on Thursday after she pleaded guilty to taking money from a band booster club in the St. Louis area.
Anna Munson was arrested for the crime in February. She had lived and worked there before she was hired at Columbia Public Schools in May 2017. She resigned from her position at CPS in March.
Authorities accused Munson of making at least $17,500 in undocumented ATM withdrawals from the bank account of the Marquette Band Boosters at Marquette High School in Chesterfield between April 4, 2015 and Aug. 12, 2016. Investigators said she also made several purchases using the club’s credit/debit card that were not legitimate. Munson was the club’s treasurer.
If Munson violates the parameters of her probation, she will go to prison for three years.
