Woman hurt in crash resulting from police chase

One woman was taken to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries after she was involved in a crash the was the result of a police chase on Monday afternoon.

The chase began at the Highway 63 and Interstate 70 connector in relation to an ongoing investigation of a burglary in Centralia, Boone County Sheriff’s deputies on the scene said.

However, the crash did not end the chase. According to deputies, the woman was driving the car when deputies tried to pull her over, and she crashed at I-70 Drive and Glenstone Drive. Detective Tom O’Sullivan with BCSD said deputies believe the woman was pushed out of the vehicle by Joshua M. Skouby. Skouby then continued the chase on to I-70 East. The vehicle eventually crashed at I-70 Drive and Route Z.

Skouby was taken into custody.
