High pressure keeps us dry this weekend, Cold sticks around into Tuesday
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy skies will be the story this evening, into the overnight hours with temperatures falling steadily through the 20s after sunset. You’ll want the jacket for any evening plans. Overnight lows dip into the Mid 10s for Mid-MO north of 70, and the upper 10s/low 20s for our southern counties.
SUNDAY: And of course you’ll want the jacket as you head out the door. Classic winter cold is in firm control as high pressure continues to maneuver eastward throughout the day. We’ll have a mix of clouds and sunshine throughout the day… it’s another cold one. Temperatures top out in the low to mid 30s. A second bubble of high pressure settles in Sunday evening, leading to another cold night.
EXTENDED: Rinse and repeat to start the work week out. Cold morning, followed by a cold day– likely more clouds than sunshine Monday. Expect more 30s. The pattern begins to flip by Tuesday. We’re tracking a warm front moving through which will help temperatures rebound into the upper 40s and near 50. Surprisingly, that’s about where we should be for this time of year. This attests to just how cold it has been. We look to get unsettled by Wednesday evening as well. Rain is possible, with some snow chance to not be ruled out either. Stay with ABC 17 News as we continue to track the latest details on the changing conditions.
