ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMIZ)

The St. Louis Cardinals traded outfielder Harrison Bader to the New York Yankees in exchange for left-handed pitcher Jordan Montgomery on Tuesday.

Montgomery has gone 3-3 so far in 2022 with a 3.68 ERA. The lefty has gone 22-20 overall in his career, which he spent entirely with the Yankees.

He is the second pitcher that St. Louis has picked up in two days. On Monday, the Cardinals acquired left handed Pirates pitcher Jose Quintana. The club also added pitchers Chris Stratton and JoJo Romero to the roster, as well.

Bader is currently on the injured list for a foot injury, but has been with St. Louis for six seasons. Through 72 games in 2022, he is hitting .256 with 21 RBI. The New York native will be returning to his home state.
