Route O crash sends two to hospital

Two people were transported to University Hospital with minor injuries on Monday after a single-car, rollover crash on Route O near Terrapin Hills Road.

Boone County Fire Protection District and Missouri Highway Patrol Officials responded to the crash at approximately 2:30 p.m. The crash blocked the roadway for about 30 minutes, but traffic was flowing by 3:15 p.m.

Two people were in the vehicle, and one of them had to be extricated, said Boone County Fire Division Chief Gale Blomenkamp. The other person was trapped but able to get out of the car before personnel arrived on scene.

The vehicle hit an embankment, left the right side of the roadway and rolled the vehicle once or twice, Blomenkamp said. However, officials are still investigating the cause of the crash.
