Pedestrian killed on Hwy 63 near Moberly
UPDATE 10:30 p.m.: A pedestrian was hit and killed on Highway 63 in Randolph County Thursday night, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
It happened just before 6 p.m. in the southbound lanes two miles south of Moberly.
A crash report identified the pedestrian as John Redelfs, 39 of Moberly.
According to the report, Redelfs was struck in the right driving lane by a car driven by Erin Stapleton, 34 of Moberly.
Authorities said the driver called law enforcement after it happened.
Sgt. Eric Brown said Stapleton was not detained and the patrol does not suspect anything criminal happened.
The scene cleared around 9 p.m., but the Missouri State Highway Patrol said its crash team is on its way to investigate.
ORIGINAL: The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Randolph County Sheriff’s Department are currently working a crash in the southbound lanes of Highway 63 near County Road 2715.
The Moberly Police Department tweeted about the crash at 6:30 p.m. warning drivers to be cautious in the area.
