Fire breaks out in Mexico industrial building

The staff at the Continental Products building in Mexico, Missouri, almost completely extinguished a fire that broke out in the 2000 block of W. Boulevard on Monday morning.

According to the Mexico Public Safety Department, an uncontrolled fire was burning in and around one of the building’s furnaces.

“Staff had almost completely extinguished the fire using building fire extinguishers, and had moved employees to an area of safety prior to MPSD arrival,” MPSD said in a press release.

Crews found a few small fires still burning in the furnace and adjoining ductwork when they arrived on scene. They were extinguished with no further damage done to the building. No one was injured in the incident.
