WEATHER AWARE DAY MONDAY – Tracking Snow to Start the Work Week

TONIGHT: We’re tracking an area of moisture approaching Mid-Missouri, which is the first wave of two that will impact that area over the next 24 hours. This looks to bring a light mix of drizzle and snow showers between 9pm-5am. This will be on and off, and light… but with temperatures below freezing overnight, we’ll have to monitor the potential for slick conditions for the Monday Morning commute. The main issues will fall on untreated neighborhood roads, bridges/overpasses and driveways. Make sure to give yourself extra time as you head out the door.

MONDAY: Early morning snow should taper off for the commute, but, by lunch time, we see more snow ramp up along I-70 lasting through late afternoon. The situation is the same with most major roadways staying wet, with side roads, bridges and overpasses having some slick spots. Most precipitation ends by 6pm.

EXTENDED: The weather quiets down Tuesday, with a generous warming trend building in by Thursday, back into the 50s. Watch ABC 17 News for the latest on our changing weather and check back here for updates.
