MU marijuana organization hosts forum for newly passed medical marijuana amendment

MU NORML, the Mizzou chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, hosted a cannabis conference Saturday with Missouri NORML and Show-Me Cannabis.

Several leaders who helped get the medical marijuana Amendment 2 passed in Tuesday’s midterm elections will speak at the forum.

Leaders have answered a variety of questions regarding gun rights and medical marijuana card owners and how to obtain a cultivation license, as well as when patients can start being issued medical marijuana cards.

Leaders said patients might not be able to get an actual card until June 2019, but if a patient had a card from another state or if a doctor writes a certificate, the patient would be able to obtain state-grown medical marijuana.

The forum will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Arts and Sciences building on Mizzou’s campus.
